Hey Amazoniabelly - I don't think you're going to find answers here, but other people's ways of dealing with this, which may help or may not. I am very hesitant to insert just about anything into my vagina while pregnant (also 34 wks). I had some kind of horrible infection that settled in my sinuses about 5 or 6 wks ago, and ended up taking abx for them (which is a really desperate move for me). It didn't even knock it right out, took the whole week! It was a pretty serious infection. If the staph. infection isn't a major problem, I'd go for a dietary adjustment. Use acidophilus (get the best mix you can, at least 5 hopefully 10 different types with 1 - 10 billion cells per capsule). Also you can do echinacea, bee propolis, and lots of vit. C (as much as you can handle - I'm on 2k/day). The echinacea is the only one you need to monitor and not take for too long, as it becomes ineffective. You can also do bacteriacides like garlic and grapefruit seed extract, which you can do raw (ugh) or in liquid (not much better on the gse), or you could do gse in a sitz bath. Anyway, if it's a big/brutal infection that isn't likely to clear up within the next 3-4 wks using natural methods, I'd go with the more drastic intervention. If you think it may clear up w/o abx, know that you need to have it cleared by 37 wks or you could end up on an IV drip during labor. Double ugh! Best of luck!!
