So I'd really like some honest answers here.... Am I the only TF eater who is also addicted to Starbuck's drip coffee??? I drink it black - none of that crap added. But still, I know it's not organic and is much higher in caffeine than most others. So really, I'm just curious.... Are there more of you out there?

Starbucks has less caffeine than cheap coffee because the beans are roasted longer. The deeper the roast the less caffeine. That's why the breakfast blends are the light roasts and the dessert blends are the dark roasts. I try to drink organic but I love certain starbucks blends.

I love cafe mochas. Possibly forever. This is not good, and I think I've gotten my 3yr old on to them as well. I do ask for 1/2 the usual amount of chocolate when I get them tho (well, when I remember that is....and am not suffering any social anxiety at the time of ordering).

I wouldn't worry about the drip coffee. I think it's ludicrous to blow five bucks a day like some people do....or even more, I know some who make two stops a day there! We bought a Jura Capresso and have never regreted it once. They are very costly but excellent machines.

Nope, I don't drink Starbucks coffee. A couple local roasters have much better coffee, one of the roasters is 100% wind-powered, and several are organic/fair trade. I prefer to support them and their efforts. BUT I know coffee isn't exactly TF, but I absolutely drink it anyway.

I used to like Starbucks ... then I started buying light roast beans, crushing them, and pan-roasting them to a dark roast right before brewing. It is absolutely fantastic like that.

Then again I don't drink coffee much, so the extra effort isn't exactly a daily hassle here.

if it makes you feel better I still have a weakness for Cherry Coke... Star Bucks coffee is probably a billion times healthier than that! *shame*

I love my coffee. But it's not Starbucks their coffee is way to strong for me. I was addicted to Tim Horton's for a while though but for the past few years I have been buying our local, independent roasters coffee. They have organic, shade grown, fair trade coffee that is far superior to Starbucks.

I actually worked at Timmy's for a spell and they do not let their coffee sit once brewed for more than 20 minutes. Now at home once the coffee maker is done brewing (I have a 2 mug coffee maker.) I turn it off and also I remove the grinds from the top because if the grinds continue to drip into the coffee it will get funky. I hate old, nasty coffee with a passion. I find it extremely difficult to find fresh coffee like I can make at home so I just make it at home now all the time.

I used to be. I used to work there. Some customers would come between 2-5 times a day to get fancy (read $$$) drinks. When I started there, I wasn't drinking caffeine, but I worked there early in the AM and slowly started drinking all the free drinks I could get--gmo corn syrup and all. I have since stopped drinking caffeine, and when I do, I am now committed to buying fair trade coffee, (regular or decaf) which we get and make at home, or we get at a local coffee shop which only brews fair trade stuff. I learned, at a work meeting, that the Starbucks board voted on labeling what of their stuff was gmo or gmo-free and they voted against labeling. That didn't sit well with me. But that is a topic for another thread. You are drinking their drip coffee. From a TF point of view, I wouldn't worry. I just worry about the how it affects the people of the world, and I think Starbucks being such a name in coffee, should be more responsible and buy fair trade. But now I've possibly gone off topic, but not for me, because I think that TF, for me, extends into more than food, but a lifestyle of traditional thinking in all my life, as much as possible. But again, this isn't a rant to make you personally feel bad, because if I were you I wouldn't. I'm mad at Starbucks, not it's customers.

I dont but I got my inlaws hooked on Katz's coffee which is a great local organic free trade coffee that is amazing and 10 times better than SBUX.

I dont drink caffeine but my husband does... and if it makes you feel any better he is addicted to Dr. Pepper. He has to have one every day.

I'm a social drinker when it comes to coffee

If the place is cute and I'm out with friends and they make some tasty bad for me mocha then I'll have one. Starbucks is espec a temptation as it reminds me of surviving my way to bz senior year of college with daily visits.

So not sure if that is "worse" or "better" ((joke)) than a plain black coffee since it's only occasional - but does include a lot more than just coffee lol

Trader Joes has a great selection of fair trade organic coffees for cheap. I usually get my beans there, or local places like Stumptown or sometimes the Whole Foods Allegra or other local places. Even peets. I don't tend to prefer Starbucks, but have been known to get an americana there once in a while.

I always have mine with cream- raw or otherwise. No sugar. So from a traditional veiw, I agree that a little in moderation is fine as long as you are consuming other balanced foods and listen to your body. But this is coming from someone who usually manages to finish 3/4 of her cup in the morning adn sometimes another in the afternoon. I make mine strong in a mokka pot. So I am not chugging it down by the pot-full
