If you or anyone you know (who is willing to share thier name and info with me) has had a forced c-section can you please email me. I will need your full name, the hospital you were at and the doctor performing the surgery [email protected] please put "forced c-section" in the subject line.

I think it would be great to have post your story here as well, I think it can be healing and help light a fire under everyone else.

Oh and this is the beginning of the research that will hopefully end in legislation that prevents a woman of sound mind from being unable to choose the direction of her health care.

Even if it doesn't do that, I'd at least like to see the term "elective cesarean" eliminated from the literature when the patient had no real choice. Mind you, doctors can claim that women have a choice...even if the only hospital/doctor/midwife they can find that will go along with them is 2000 miles away or something.

From another post of the OPs (I think it was the same poster) in a thread a few days ago, I'd say she's referring to both court-ordered c-sections, and c-sections done when the mother hasn't consented and is refusing permission even while being rolled into OR.

I signed the consent forms three days after the fact, does that count?

it wasn't a forced cesarean, but I was definitely coerced, lied to, and tricked. I had interventions that I never knew about, much less consented to, which directly led to my daughter needing to be "taken" out of my uterus immediately. Doc did make me say the words "I consent" as tears were streaming down my face right before they prepped me for surgery.

Stafl I think I'd like to include those as well. I think I'm going to try to break it down into groups, women who have had a c-section because they were given no alternative, women who had a c-section because hospital policy wouldn't allow otherwise, women who were forceable given a c-section, and women who were court order sections.
