That sounds about right. It would undermine the current vaccination effort to say that after 6 months these mRNA vaccines already need a booster. That goes against the narrative of how super effective they are, which I think is part of the reason the FDA and CDC very quickly issued their statement.I give it 90 days before they decide the science days everyone needs that booster. And then yearly.
However, the data from Israel is problematic. And 90 days brings us to October/November, when one would expect to see an increase in cases of a seasonal virus. If vaccinated individuals start showing up in US hospitals (as they have in Israel) then we may see the CDC jump on Pfizer's bandwagon. However, there will be extra outrage directed at the unvaccinated, as well as praise for Pfizer's tackling of the Delta variant with an excellent, updated booster.
