I often read about people in here making different kinds of stew. That is one thing I don`t think I have ever made...

But I would love to get great, tasty recipes so that I can start making stews! It sounds sooo good!

So, can someone (as many as possible! LOL) give me some yummy recipes?

Both vegetarian and with meat/chicken...

TIA!

my best friend just made a meatless stew with barley, I will see if I can get the recipe for ya, I want to try it too. I have 2 packages of stew meat we got when we bought our split 1/4 and don't know what to do with them. I don't eat it, but my DH does.

There are three really great stew recipes in Lean and Luscious and Meatless that I make often. I can't post the recipes cuz they're copyrighted. But if you get the book, try the Turkish Stew, Potato Lentil Stew, and the Split Pea and Vegetable Stew.

Totally vegan, totally delicious.

Gosh, we have them often-diff. every time. BUt, I do always use the crock pot.
I put in some kind of beef-flank steak yesterday. I add a can of tomatoes or a can of tomato soup. Add a cube of garlic, 1/2 onion, some basil & tarragon, couple of bayleaves and then as many veggies and beans as I have around. Add green pepper and parsley a couple of hours before the end. You could add barley about an hour before the end.
(Turnips and parsnips are great. Love chick peas and adzuki beans, too!: )

Oh, and often I serve it over brown rice.
