I just line-dried my diapers for the first time in the year and a half I've been cd'ing, and they're so stiff! I was quite shocked at how stiff these are, and can't imagine they're very comfy on my dd's bum. Is this normal? Are all air-dried items very stiff? Is there a way to prevent that? maybe too much detergent in the wash? I usually only use 1/2 capful of whatever detergent I'm using plus sometimes a cup of washing soda.

Any tips?

Yep.. My line dried dipes are usually stiff.. I throw them in the dryer on just air dry for about 5-10 minutes to tumble around and soften up. .Works like a charm everytime..

I have no dryer. All my beautiful hemp inserts are like hemp cardboard pucks.

If you have a dryer then do what the other ladies mention. Hang dry (doesnt that feel so domestic!) then fluff them up in the dryer. ahhh the joy of folding warm, non crispy diapers.

Thanks for the chuckle! :LOL

I also recommend putting your dipes in the dryer for a bit before you air-dry them the rest of the way.
