Ok... so I guess this is most likely due to increased blood volume, huh? I have not had much swelling at all ... my feet/ankles are pretty much how they've always been. But my hands feel so stiff- esp my right hand- almost what I would imagine arthritis to feel like. Anyone know anything about this? Do you think it's just blood volume/swelling, or any other ideas??

TIA!

Maybe all the gardening you've done the past few days?! LOL

I thought I was going to get through this whole pregnancy without swelling too. But just in the past 2-3 days, my ankles and feets are a little puffy and sometimes my hands. I don't think it's anything but just end of pregnancy. I'm 38 weeks today.

Mine are doing it too! This is the first pregnancy that it's ever happened to me. My hands are a little swollen, but not THAT swollen! Sheesh! I think it's a combination of the increased relaxin hormone loosening joints in my hands, and a bit of pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel syndrome. It's worse overnight and in the early mornings, and for me it's worse in my right hand (I'm right handed), so I've actually worn a wrist splint to bed the last few nights and it's helped a lot.

hee hee hee... maybe it is the gardening and all those thank you notes and the computer This morning I even see that there is a bruise on my right hand, like maybe I tore something? I am going to put some arnica on it.

Oh dear... barreling here towards the end (also 38 weeks), I too am finding myself with a lot of the complaints I thought I just wouldn't have. Ho well... thanks for the imput, thought I might be going crazy or something.

Temporary carpal tunnel syndrome isn't uncommon toward the end of pregnancy. I have to deal with it just a little bit this time around, but it was definitely worse for me during my pregnancy that ended during the winter.

My hands aren't swollen (much, I did have to get my wedding ring resized), but I wake up every morning with stiff hands. I have to pump blood back into them before I get up, and it's hard to get my fingers straight until then. It's been going on for a little more than a week I think. I was going to post something about it- looks like you beat me to it!

It's kind of like (sorry for using a drug refferance- we all had our wild days, I'm sure) when you've taken acid and wake up all stiff from the strict-nine, IMO. (FYI- That has been more than 7 years- when I was 18)
