I'm not really sure where to post this. If anyone has info, please share it with me because I'm really starting to be physically and emotionally drained from this. Every time I think it is ending it just gets going. Quick timeline - m/c on april 19th. bleeding until about may 1. no bleeding until may 15 then bleeding until...NOW! Lots of details ahead in the hopes that someone recognizes what might be the cause of this or it happened to them too.
My midwife had me take a preg test a couple of weeks ago that was still positive so we know I still had those hormones. U/s confirmed that it was retained tissue and not new pregnancy, so I had the d & c 2 weeks ago. I took Premarin for 1 week when the bleeding stopped tapering off and got super bad again. That seemed to work. I wouldn't say I had no no-bleeding-days but at least it tapered down to super light spotting. Well, I was at work last night and boom! crampy, headache, and here comes the bright red blood again. I talked to the doc today and he thinks it is hormone related and suggested the pill for a month or so to try and build my lining back up.
I need to move forward from this. Physically, I'm so much better - though today I feel like I've been hit by a train. Generally, I've felt so much better. I just need to stop seeing blood, and dealing with the bathroom issues.
I feel like I've gotten cold and shut down to what is the reason behind this just hey, i've got this random bleeding thing going on now. my heart is shut down to the fact that i still don't have my baby. it feels really numb right now.
thanks for reading and thanks for any info anyone has to share!

Ok well looking at your info I think maybe you could have just gotten your period more quickly than expected after your D&C but there is also the chance that your OB is right and you need to get your hormones back in order. I am sorry you are experiencing this, I know how awful it is. I lost my daughter in December and bled for four months before they finally figured out that it wasn't a hormone issue and I actually had a retained piece of placenta. I was furious that they hadn't believed me or checked for that before. Are they sure they got everything during the D&C? You may have to try the birth control for a while and see if that works. to you I know how rough this can be. I hope you can find some answers soon.

Have you tried red rasberry leaf tea? It is supposed to be good for uterine lining.

thank you both for responding. I've been so hesitant to drink red raspberry again. I drank it when I was pregnant thinking I was doing something good for my body and baby. now i think i have a bad connotation with it and i want to shake that because 1)it is so yummy! and 2) everything says it is good for my body! I will make a cup right now. Thanks!

i dont exactly have an answer for you but i want to mention that i am seeing an accupuncturist who is also a doula. she is very sensitive and informed. she is trying to help me get back into balance after my recent loss. she offered to help get my AF flowin if i got fed up of waiting. she did a treatment on me when i was 5 days overdue with baby-loo and whamo she came quick after that! i would say that chinese medicine/accupuncture may help the bigger picture. not sure where you are but my midwife recommended this person to me. take good care of yourself.

I understand your feeling of numbness from the prolonged bleeding. My dr said I was going to miscarry. 5 weeks later I was still bleeding, turned out it was ectopic. But after awhile I only focused on the spotting, then the surgery. I just wanted it to be over, so I could try to work through it.

You are in my thoughts, I wish you some peace soon.

I had a similar sort of thing happen with my last m/c about 4 years ago. I tdidn't last as long tho' coz my doctor got my iron levels tested & ended up giving me some iron injections as a result & it went away. She told me that the more you bleed the more anemic you get, the more anemic you are, the more you bleed so it becomes a vicious circle. Have you been tested for your iron levels at all ? Nettle tea would most likely be more helpful now than rapsberry altho' they do mix nicely together. Yellow dock too & maybe some floradix. Best of luck & many s
