Well, I went to my first m/w appointment. Did the usual screening stuff and then she tried to find the heartbeat. She couldn't find it and searched for a LONG time. I was 10 weeks to the day. She is sending me for an ultrasound on Friday. But, I have a very ominous suspicsion. We did see the heartbeat at 8 weeks. But, at 9 weeks, my m/s cleared up. Although I suddenly have a belly and need mat pants, I am still so nervous.

This is my 5th pregnancy. 1 - m/c at 11 weeks. 2 - m/c at 5 weeks. Those are the two that I conceived on my own with no fertility meds. 3 - DS born at 36 weeks and 4 - DD born at 40+4. My live children were conceived on clomid and progesterone. This pregnancy is a surprise and we weren't on any meds. I am so afraid that there is nothing.

The midwife did hear a lot of uterine sounds and said that my uterus feels at least 10 weeks and that those are good signs. Honesly, I am a bundle of nerves until another u/s on Tuesday.

Having m/c not only robbed me of the first 2 pregnancies but also really robbed me of the joy of the pregnancies that followed. I just can't feel happy and excited and carefree.

Alright, enough whining. I just needed to get that out. Hopefully all my concern is for nothing and we see a little baby in there on Tues.

With dd1 they tried to find a heartbeat at 11 weeks 4 days. They never found it. The dr said it is very normal not to hear the heartbeat before 12 weeks. I don't even bother asking for them to find it before 12 weeks now. The stress is just not worth it.
to you though.

I read that SOMETIMES you even have to wait until 14 weeks to hear a heartbeat by doppler. 95% of the time they can find it at 12 weeks.

I hope the ultrasound is helpful. Good luck and breathe...

This is such an apt description of the impact of miscarriage. Thank you for verbalizing what I've been trying to say for weeks.

And I hope this works out for you. Have faith.

Ultrasound yesterday showed a happy little baby bouncing around inside. Heartbeat at 169bpm.

Oh, seeing a baby on that monitor is pure joy!
