Is it normal to still be feeling very stiff and sore in the pelvis 6 months postpartum? What can I do to get back into my usual shape?
A little background: This is baby #3. I had lots of pelvic pain (right in the pubic area) during pregnancy, which I never had with previous pregnancies. It hurt the most when I was lying in bed with legs together--I always had to have a pillow between them--or when getting up from sitting position.
I had some relief right after birth--my baby was posterior during labor and was pretty big (9lbs 5 oz). But my previous babies were both about 8.5 lbs, so not like a huge difference in size. I don't generally have the intense stabbing pain I did in pregnancy, but I still feel stiff and sore more of the time. Running is very difficult and uncomfortable.
My nurse midwife kind of blew me off, like this is the usual preggo aches and pains, but I feel like an old lady! This is so much different than the recovery from my other births. Any ideas?
