my due date was 6 days ago, and my baby still hasn't dropped. Is this a problem? could it mean that baby can't fit?

am i just being a worry wart? or should i be concerned. this is my first baby.

Although it was my second, my little one didn't engage until labor (at 41.5 weeks). He'd 'dropped' some, but I hadn't really noticed, the midwife did.

Don't worry about baby fitting, your body's getting ready for it

It has no bearing on your birthing potential whatsoever! Plenty of babies don't get low until there's a need for them to so they can be born
I've had 2 babies now who were nowhere near engaged during labour. And guess what, it was fine!

The ob/medwives I saw during my pregnancy with dd had me completely freaked out about this. DD didn't drop until I was in labor and it was FINE. They took it as one more reason that some catastrophe was going to happen.

Not a big deal. Many first babies do "drop" or engage in the pelvis prior to labor, but many don't, and in my experience it doesn't seem to have much bearing on anything at all. I have seen this used as an excuse to recommend a cesarean though, so be careful.

That was my experience. The fact that dd hadn't dropped combined with the fact that she was so *huge* (she was big, but come on ...) and the fact that I was so overdue :eyeroll: (she was born 6 days after her due date) had them apoplectic and pushing for a c/s starting at 36 weeks. It's truly a miracle that I had a vaginal birth with that bunch of yahoos attending.
