I'll start this out by saying that I'm personally NOT worried, but everything I read is starting to make me question myself.

I'm almost 21-weeks and have not felt movement yet. At least, not anything I can describe or imagine as movement. I have definitely felt a lot of growing and changing in the last week or so. I've gotten a lot bigger and my back is aching more.

So the question is this, I'm not worried, but should I be? I've been waiting for the bubbles type feeling, but haven't gotten it yet. Could I be just missing it?

There's no cause for concern as my mw says everything is growing just fine. In fact, I was running four-weeks ahead in size at the last appointment..

I'm no expert and this is my first, BUT I am 23 weeks and 2 days today and I only started feeling movement about a week ago. This seems to put me behind EVERYBODY and it sort of concerned me because I was constantly being asked by well meaning peeps. Still, I only seem to feel him at night when lying in bed or on the couch on my left side. It feels very gentle, sweet, and feathery. Occasionally it is more obvious. Regardless, it is so reassuring to me. It lasts anywhere from a moment to several minutes at a time as he situates himself or feels around or whatever it is he is doing in there. I look forward to it all day long now. Sweet, sweet baby. :

I'm 20 weeks and right there with you! I told myself that I wouldn't start getting concerned until 22 weeks, but I just feel like it's any day now. I'm also hoping I just have a laid back baby. My first was rolling and kicking from 17 weeks, and hasn't stopped yet! So, I wouldn't mind a more chilled out child!! But I am right there with you as far as not feeling anything definitive.

Don't forget that placental placement can affect how much movement you feel. I have an anterior placenta, and for ages could only feel small movements along the bottom and right edges of my uterus. My baby was facing toward my back at my 20week u/s, too, and that can affect what you feel.

Now, at 22w6d, I feel movement much more strongly, esp. in the middle of the night. And for what it's worth, I never had the "bubbles" type feeling - it was more like a goldfish in a bag, or feathery, as described above.

Hi,
I just want to encourage you. I also wasn't worried but people kept looking concerned when they asked if the baby was moving and I said I hadn't felt it.
I was 21 weeks last week and the day after, I was lying on my back and felt the baby move for the first time.
This is my first too, so I might not have recognised it earlier. It felt a bit like gas moving along my intestines, except not at all in a regular manner.
Bub has been moving on and off ever since, but I especially feel it when I'm lying on my back - maybe Bub doesn't like it when I do that?

I am 21 weeks and just this past few days started feeling movement. Hang in there and I am sure your babe will be rockin' and rollin' soon.

I said I'd update you all and I'll be true to my word.

Just last night, I felt movement for the first time. No subtle little nothings. It felt like a good swift kick and nearly made me hop out of my skin.

But what a nice feeling!! The nice part is that it hasn't seemed to quit. All day long today I've felt more. DH has been patiently waiting and waiting. Now he'd like to feel the movement himself.

Does that part take a little while?

Hooray! Isn't it great?

My DH has still only felt the baby once, and I've been feeling him for weeks. Granted, he isn't around when babe is at his liveliest.

My DH only began to feel the baby last week, at 21 weeks. With DS1, he wasn't able to feel him until 26 weeks. I'm sure it will be soon!!!

Our problem right now is trying to get the little one to cooperate with her Daddy's hand! She'll be kicking up a storm and as soon as I move his hand over, she'll move to the back or just decide she's had enough. Here's hoping he gets his own few swift kicks in the next week or two. He's anxiously awaiting his first real interaction with his littel girl.
