We applied back in July and they said we would hear from them by 11/20/09. I called 2-3 weeks ago and it was still pending a decision. Do we just have to keep waiting till they make up there minds? I know dd's psych records have listed her as severe/disabled and have for 3-4 years and her immune status should qualify her as well (despite being on Ig therapy she still has to remain isolated) so I don't get why is it taking so long?

I could live with getting the check long before the letter, I thought it was all direct deposit now though? I know when I went to the interview they told me to bring my bank acct info but I forgot. The intake lady said not to worry about it as they would get it later.

I applied for Z's back in July as well. I got a call in October saying they needed more records and to possibly send them to one of their docs. I have not heard anything since. When I applied they told me to expect it to take 3-6 months.

That's just it, I haven't heard ANYTHING since the intake appt. I've called 2-3 times but always told its pending. Now watch, tomorrow I'll go get the mail and get something from them. I just hope its positive news

Well...My son was direct deposit for years...But I switched him to a check when he turned 18.But when he first went on Social Security at age 8-9 they didn't have direct deposit. He is 20 now and still gets his check in paper form but it comes to me and I pay his bills and then give him his leftovers.

Try to be paitent..It can take months and it never happens when they say it will. There is always it has to go to this person letter..Which also extends it again.

They are on Hawaiian Time...

Speak of the devil I got a letter today, they want to do a "MENTAL" exam Dec 12, a Saturday no less! Just my luck dd is going to be perfect for the interviewer and the end up ignoring years of records because she acted "normal" for the exam. She can hold it together quite well for a few hours at a time with others then she loses it when she's away from them.
