I'm just starting the third trimester of my first pregnancy, and I need some help figuring out the whole nursing bra/tank thing.

I'm a 34E right now, up from a 32D pre-pregnancy. I know that I shouldn't buy any fitted nursing bras until my milk comes in, but I was hoping to have something bra-like at home so that I could get by in the first few days after my baby is born and not have to go out right away. Bras like the Bravado seem like a good bet, but I've seen that several heavy-breasted women here don't find them supportive enough. (Even before pregnancy, my breasts were too heavy to go without a bra for very long.) I'm interested in the nursing tanks like Glamormom and Target sell, but the sizes don't seem like they would work for a narrow-chested, large-breasted woman like me.

How soon after birth am I likely to feel well enough to get up and go bra shopping? How many fitted nursing bras am I likely to need?

Thanks so much for your help! Keep it coming!

My main concern about any kind of tank or bra that comes only in S, M, L, etc., is that the band won't be small enough or the cup won't be big enough. For example, the Glamourmom medium would fit me around the band, but the cup is only made for B-D. The large would be the right (pre-lactation) size, but it's too big in the band. And really, when you have dense breasts, it's crucial to find something that's going to be supportive.

Jenneyrebecca, those Jane's bras and tanks are really cute! Do you just pull the cup off to the side in order to nurse?

Mighty-mama, I looked around the Motherwear site a little. Is there a specific product there that you would recommend?
