Stitches or not?

577 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  momto l&a
My DS (7) just got an elbow slammed into his eyebrow.
: Now it is swollen and he has a cut about 1/3 of an inch long.

Would you go have it stitched up? I'm not too terribly worried about scarring. I just don't know if there would be any other reason to have it stitched.

Thanks.

I usually just steri strip things that arent gushing or huge. They would have to put dd under to stich her as she was swinging at us just for putting the steri strips on.

As far as scaring i am not sure because i had 2 moles removed at the same tie - i had them stitch one and not the other (because i am a freak and like to experiment on myself
)
The unstitched one left a divit/hole in my skin and the stiched one left a hard scar tissue lump under the skin.

a friend of mine swears by using honey for cuts.
it's called people paste. mix honey with goldenseal powder and apply. it's antibacterial, antiviral and will keep it shut. worked very well on my perineum!
Those butterfly bandages to help hold the thing shut and some honey because it good for wounds.
