Hi! I live in Japan and am expecting my first baby in October. What is in your medicine cabinet? I will need to order most stuff from the states, so I want to be prepared.
TIA,
Kathryn

I try to have on hand at all times (and some of these things would not be appropriate for an infant, but a older baby/toddler):
Hyland's Homeopathic Kit (contains basic remedies for common ailments)
Rescue Remedy
Liquid Echinacea by Herbs for Kids
Chewable Vitamin C
"Cold and Flu" remedy by Natra-Bio, this can be given to 4 months and up!
Acidophilus-chewable
Calendula or similar salve for bumps and bruises

That is pretty much it! Hope it helps.

#5 ·
Simethicone (Mylicon drops) for gas
Gripe water (alcohol-free) for tummy troubles
Infant Tylenol for teething pains (not for fevers)
Grapefruit seed extract
Gentian violet (both of these for yeast/thrush)

For infant:

Weleda's Calendula Cream for diaper rash.
Homeopathic Chamomila (for teething)
Echinacia (for myself in times of need for lowering a fever via bm)

For 12 months +:

Calendula cream for boo boos
Echinacia for kids
Various homeopathics (bought as needed) kit would be great!
Probiotics
Liquid Acidophilus
Sodium Ascorbate
Rescue Remedy
Tea Tree Oil

Mona, I've used GSE to combat yeast/thrush, although I have read it has a lot of other uses as well. For yeast, it can be used (diluted) in the baby's mouth, sprayed on the diaper area, and on mom's breasts. It's an antifungal/antimicrobial agent.

Rescue Remedy is from Bach's Flower Essences. It is used to calm the emotions and is in an alcohol base. Even tho it is only 4 small tiny drops placed on or under the tongue, I wouldn't use it for a child under 2, but maybe for yourself in low times...I use it when I am feeling frazzled and can really feel the difference. Not sure where to buy it online.
