I was wondering if a circumcision can be stopped in the middle? For instance, a parent is attending and changes his/her mind after witnessing how horrible it is, or even the wrong baby gets taken and they don't find out until it has begun?
I assume that if they have just done the retraction, they can still stop it and let it heal. What if they have already clamped it or made the dorsal slit? Can it still be stopped, or would it be best to continue?

Well, I think it could be stopped anytime before the clamp is applied or the ligature is tied...but, with the dorsal slit the skin has already been clamped with a hemostat (to decrease bleeding) and cut, so it can't just be stitched closed and would either be left as is or would require corrective surgery later on.

The foreskin itself could-theoretically-be reattached, but it would be a much more complicated surgery and I'm not sure how feasible it would actually be or if any doctor would be willing to do it, KWIM?
