I am having trouble getting the back carry to feel "right" with my 9mo DD (13lbs)....

and help in this dept- can anyone point me in the right direction? or have any suggestions?

I keep practicing but it never feels right they way I do it... (there has to be more than one way but I have only seen one hold by several different people/youtube videos!)

I have the 4,6 Ana Storch ....

I am 5' tall and "Busty & round" could it be my "stature" getting in the way

Help Mama's PLEASE

what kind of carry are you trying to do, mama? a back wrap cross carry (BWCC)? a lot of times the trick is to work on tightening each rail independently and not pulling from the middle so much. that will allow it to be snug where it needs to be (baby's bottom and top) without being too tight in the middle and causing pressure points and gaps.

there are a ton of videos out there demonstrating various ways to tie it. i always like to make a 'chest belt' first - tying the wrap in a knot in front of your chest before you take it over your shoulders and back across your baby. that way i was working from a secure place to start with and didn't have to worry about her moving while i fiddled with rails and spreading fabric.

you might want to go over to thebabywearer and do a search for COTW (carry of the week). they have support threads for individual types of carries, that include links to lots of videos of various ways to tie, tweak, etc. you might find by watching some of those videos that you prefer a different type of carry. there are also a ton on YouTube. the nice thing about having a relatively long wrap is that you can do pretty much every carry with it (though of course you'll have ridiculously long tails in some of them), which will allow you to try out various carries to see what you like. if you like some of the quicker carriers like a rucksack, you might opt for a shorter wrap (or hemming down the one you have) or you might find a different way to use the wrap length you have that you like better than what you're doing now. i find the videos to be incredibly helpful, as well as practicing in front of a mirror.
