How was strep diagnosed? Culture confirmed? Was an antibody susceptibility test done? If this is confirmed strep then you need to treat and more importantly find out the susceptibility to antibiotics. Leaving a bacterial ear infection can have serious ramifications.

It wasn't diagnosed or tested .....yet.

Ds1 had positive strep throat and was so swollen that we went with antibiotics. (He only had MILD symptoms for 1 day)

Ds2 has draining in his left ear. A dance student of mine said it may be strep in the ear. She had it before and the drainage looked similar.

I have never heard of it before, so I was trying to find out info.
He may have ruptured his eardrum

I never thought of that.
I would giving him Vita C every hour and have him sip on Althea Root or Althea Rose or Astragalus herbal teas with honey.

Have him put his head on a healting pad with the draining ear down.
Even if the ear drum ruptured it will repair itself. I've had that before.
