While we're on the subject of lines on our bellies... does anyone have belly stretch marks yet?

I didn't get any with DS (although I had them on boobs, hips and butt), and am wondering when to start frantically searching for any blemishes. I don't know if I won't get them this time since I didn't get them last time, or if that was just a fluke.

So far there are no new ones on boobs, hips or butt though! So that's good!

I have some on the sides of my breasts that I actually got pre children in my late teens when I 'filled out' finally. And I have a few on my high upper thighs from baby #1.

I think they can appear anytime, though I think for tummy ones, the third trimester is probably the most active time since that is the period of most rapid growth. Unfortunately, it's one of those...you either get 'em or not things. I have none on my belly from three pregnancies....but with twins this time...I'm thinking I'll end up with a roadmap! LOL It's okay though...my tummy never sees the light of day!!

Not in your DDC

I did not get a single stretch mark from ds1. I assumed I was safe this (recently past) pregancy as well... I was wrong. Sometime around week 34 a few popped up and gradually grew until I had the little Sprout. They aren't too bad though and so worth it!!!

I disagree. My mom didn't have them with #1 or #2 and got them with #3 and me. Although #3 and I were much larger babies than 1 and 2.

the stretch marks i earned with ds have suddenly gone from an almost invisible silver to a bright purple. not the best look. i hope i don't get more, but if i do it's no big deal since they fade pretty quickly after the baby comes.

I've had them on my hips since about 15 weeks and all of a sudden I've got two on the bottom of my belly! I think that's all, as I can't see down there and DF can't tell the difference between the marks my pants leave and stretch marks!

I've had them on my hips since puberty, but none so far with either pregnancy. My mom never got any with us girls, and I hear it can be hereditary. But that might be an old wives tale . . .
I still have until the 5th of August to see if any pop up. But I'm not worried about it. I use belly balm when I get out of the shower. If I don't, I itch like CRAZY. If I DO get them, I don't really mind. It's a badge of honor in my opinion, like saggy boobs

1st pregnancy, only boobs, thighs, and hips.

2nd pregnancy, gained 10 extra lb and got them on my stomach.

This pregnancy, all of those marks are stretched already, and I've got a long way to go.

Hi,

I'm due in July but I saw this and wanted to chime in...I have faded stretch marks on my breasts, hips and thighs from puberty (I am a redhead and redheads -- in my opinion -- are more prone to 'skin things') I was actually I was surprised I didn't get more with my first pregnancy, I got a few on my stomach, mostly on my left side -- and here's the funny part -- they first showed up the night my water broke! I was only 35 weeks, but it was as if I maxed out...I am 32 weeks and have gained ~30 lb and so far no new ones...but the old ones are stretched and are more noticeable. All so worth it though...I wouldn't trade them for anything!

I got a ton of them during my first pregnancy and they faded, but haven't really come back. I haven't gotten any yet so far this pregnancy but that could be cause my skin is already stretched out. I'm hoping I don't get any more!
