What stroller do you own? Do you like it? I'm looking to buy a stroller and have no idea.. I figured this would be the best place to ask. I do plan to babywear, but I'm sure I'll need to use a stroller sometimes. We will be flying out of state often and go to alot of events, and I just cant picture my back and body will always be up to wearing baby..

we have the BOB SUS(sport utility stroller
). we love it. it's great for the gravel and forest trails around here. next time, though, i'd get the revolution - still a BOB but with the swivel front tire. it has awesome shocks and is very easy to take the tires on and off and break down. it's also tall enough for my 6'6" dh to easily push without bending over.

we also love our mamababy wrap and ergo carrier

I have a Quinny Buzz that I've never used. We babywear. But it's awesome! The seat can face front or back and recline. The handle bar is adjustable and the hole thing unfolds on hydraulics! Neat but unfortunately a total waste of money and I haven't gotten around to selling it yet

I have a stroller frame for the infant carseat that I don't use a whole lot now but I did love it for trips to the grocery store because it had a huge basket underneath, and DD faced me in it. Also, it folded up really small. I also have a Safety 1st jogging stroller that I don't like much except that it has a rear-facing option. But it is hard to steer. Currently I am visiting my mom and she bought a cheapo folding stroller I could use here (it is a last-resort-get-child-to-sleep thing I use when I am too pooped at 11 pm to sling her) and it works fine for that purpose but I doubt it would last long. The only thing I really like about it is that it has a little mesh handle holder-of-things that I can put my water bottle in.

So, I have 3 strollers and am not really super-keen on any of them
From this experience though, I would look for the following in a stroller:

- rear-facing
- big basket underneath
- easy to steer
- waterbottle holder where you can reach it

All this having been said, the only time I find a stroller really useful is for grocery shopping (I walk to our grocery store). The rest of the time, babywearing is SOOOO much more convenient.

We own three strollers, and I have to say I use all of them from time to time. I love to wear my DD2, but sometimes the stroller comes in handy for her or for DD1 when she gets tired.

When DD1 was born, we bought a big honking travel system by Evenflo, and the stroller is still used a LOT. DD1 used the infant carseat (DD2 didn't) and it snapped right into the stroller, making it possible for her to face me when we walked, and to recline and nap comfortably. We bolstered the inside of it with some rolled up blankets to make it more comfy when she was a little baby. Our choice of this travel system was almost completely due to two things -- there are TWO CUP HOLDERS in the top, and there is a HUGE HUGE HUGE basket underneath. Many was the time with DD1 as a baby where she was in the sling but the stroller basket and the stroller seat itself held coats, diaper bag, mall purchases, groceries, etc. The stroller looks beat-up after 4+ years of use, but it still works just great. We call it The Tank.

The second stroller we bought was a GREAT purchase. It is a couple-year-old version of this Chicco umbrella stroller...and it's wonderful. It lives in our trunk and is used for things like the Botanic Garden, going downtown on the train, shlepping into huge superstores like Ikea, etc. It is also WONDERFUL for travelling in airports and out of town -- lightweight but strong, comes with its own carry-bag, has little pockets for things like cell phone, keys, snacks, etc., and has a little basket underneath that will hold (and this I can tell you from experience) a maya wrap, a child's jacket, a bottle of water, and a couple of small toys. This was the best $50 I spent as far as travel gear. A GREAT stroller.

The third stroller I bought is a double stroller -- not something you'll need -- but for anyone who's wondering, if you buy a cheap double stroller, you get a cheap double stroller. I hate using it and don't unless I have to...I'd rather sling the baby and push a single stroller if DD1 wants to ride.

Good luck! I think you should go to a store and try out a bunch to see what you like. I never saw a $700 stroller that I thought was worth it, but my friend SWEARS by her Bugaboo...

We have the BOB Revolution and LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I can not explain my love for this stroller. It's the only one we have (I wear a lot, but still). It folds up pretty small, and the manuverability is great. The swivel wheel is great. I bought it for DH for Father's Day, but I swear I use it more than he does. It was so worth it!

we have the bugaboo frog (they reissued the older cheaper model), and we like it. it was a splurge, but it does last from birth to 4 or 5. It's super light (enough to negate needing an umbrella stroller too), and does every position you can think of and folds flat. the ride is very smooth, and it's easy to turn. not for jogging at all. a graco or peg carseat will snap into it with an adapter. that said, she prefers the sling by a mile
she did enjoy strolling today after i adjusted the seat to a more upright position now that she has head control. we only tried it since someone else was going to be watching her and didn't want to wear her in the heat. we took it on a trip the other day, and it did great on the beach...carrying the diaper bag.

We have a peg perego P3 and I really enjoy it. DS likes the little tray in front to hold his toys. Truly the tray in front is why we chose it. I try to wear baby as much as possible, but this helps out in the situations when I can't - eating soup or when it is extremely hot weather for example. Also, he is getting in a phase where he likes more independence and seems at times to prefer his stroller. It is not the lightest weight wise, but feels extremely sturdy. We usually travel alot for work (haven't since babe) but when we start back I was thinking of the quinny zapp because of its compact size and lighter weight.

I'm willing to spend 500.00 but don't want to go over that. Obviously that is the high end too...

We go out so often I know we would "get our moneys worth" Plus this is our first child and we know we want more

You should get a jogger-type stroller. They're the most useful, I think. I'm getting one very soon, because I like jogging. I have a beautiful Graco stroller, the kind that comes with the carseat. I've used it once, at the zoo, to hold all my stuff! The sling really is easier as far as holding a baby goes. But I definitely will always have a stroller to hold my things when I go places without Dh.

we are a babywearing family, but the stroller does come in handy at times.

if your budget is $500, you can get 2 strollers for that price.

we have a maclaren quest, which is pretty much a super duper umbrella stroller, you can get a 2005 model brand new with free shipping for about $130 if you shop around. this is the one i keep in my car and comes in handy for appointments (i had complications after the birth so i go to pt twice a week, chiro once a week and used to have lots of dr appointments, so it was nice to have a safe comfy place to have dd hang out for a little while.) also great for traveling, it only weighs 13 pounds and folds down very compact. it ends up holding my bags mostly when i go shopping because i do wear dd almost all of the time. it also reclines pretty far back for an umbrella stroller so works well when dd is sleeping.

we also have a jogging stroller by baby jogger, it's great and dh loves to run with dd (and dd loves it too). we also go for really long walks with it. we bought ours from road runner sports and it was about $350.

I have the same one and love it! DD (9.5 months) likes it since it has a steering wheel and noise makers on it. Its great now (other than being super bulky and difficult to get in and out of the trunk) but dd did not like it at all until she was around 7 months. Before that she would only ride in the umbrella stroller.

wow! I could buy a car or a really nice bike for the price of some of these strollers!
not trying to be snotty, just had no idea strollers could cost so much!
We have a Chicco C5and really like it. If you are tall, the Maclaren stroller handles might be to short. The stroller we got has nice tall handles.
We got it because it can recline for babies who can't quite sit up. The only downfall is that the shoulder straps don't fit her well yet.
We also have an Instep jogger, but it looks so stiff, we never use it.
