I have this weird tendency when I'm pregnant to suddenly develop issues with parallel parking. Normally I'm quite good at it and do it easily. However, when I was pregnant with DS and again now, I can't seem to get it right and hit curbs all the time.

Well today I really f'ed up. I was coming out of the parking garage after work and I wasn't distracted or hurried or anything but I took a turn too tight and scraped the ever lovin' crap out of the passenger side of my car. It looks b-a-d. The damage is mostly cosmetic but its bad enough that I'm going to have to fix it.

I'm just SICK about it. This is NOT money I need to be spending. I am soooooooooo frustrated with myself and bummed out. I know that your proprioception can get messed up when pregnant with all the changes to your body, etc. but for crying out loud this is so lame!

Anyway, just had to share.

Oh no! That SUCKS!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry that you are a parking dork when you're pregnant!
: The only consolation is that your loss-of-talent is short-lived ... and let's hope that this is the only goof you make for the next 20 weeks!!! Hugs!!!

DDC crashing just to say we all have those moments....I ended up having to spend money that I didn't intend to also! I have to buy DD a brand new backpack, lunch kit and water bottle since I drove over hers this am on the way to school. Put it down while getting the boys in, got her in and got in myself. Backed out and as I turned the wheels a bit I drove right over the damn thing. Smashed it all to smithereens...

Thanks for the hugs mamas. I'm just so bummed. Its going to cost me major moola. I crunched the bag passenger door and the back passenger side panel pretty good. I fear what that will cost.

The good news is my husband is not a "car guy" and was very sweet about it. He said, "its just money" which was really nice. I do know that and I do appreciate the perspective but dang I feel stupid!!!

Oh no!

If it makes you feel any better, when I was pregnant with Alivia, I was driving my mom's car. We had just moved into the duplex we were renting about twoish weeks before. I was backing the car out of the carport and turned too soon. I totally crunched up the front left corner of my mom's car. And I broke the 4x4 support to the carport. Completely. Didn't ding it. BROKE it. Did I mention we were RENTING?!

Yeah, I like him.

I gotta get the stupid thing fixed soon. Every time I see it I just cringe. It looks so bad! My son said this morning, "so mom, what happened here?"

I was just going to suggest you wait to fix until you're not pregnant. Who knows what else could happen and that might be even worse.

If it makes you feel better I was trying to get into a parking spot and there was a high curb behind me. I saw it there and just knew I'd hit it, so what did I do, I continued backing up. Yep, I hit it and it popped my back bumper out. Luckily I was able to pop it back in but the underside isn't so pretty. The best part was, I pulled forward and as I was straightening out, I hit it a second time.

Hmmm good point, maybe I shouldn't fix it. I don't know if I can look at it for that long though. It just makes me want to cry.

I feel your pain Juniper. Last week I rear-ended 2 cars!! It was so stupid and totally my fault. The exact same thing happened just 4 days apart. I was stopped at a red light and looked down at a piece of paper. Magically, my foot loosens on the break and I go creeping forward and bump the car in front of me. Both times I hit brand new BMWs! No injuries or damage to my car, but scratches on the bright shiny bumpers of the beemers. The crazy thing is that I have NEVER been in a car accident until last week and I have 2 both totally my fault.

when will our brains and reflexes come back????

I get the worst pregnancy brain too! One time when I was pregnant with my 6 yr old, I went grocery shopping with my now 9 yr old- he was 2 or 3 at the time- and after putting him in the carseat and buckling him I drove off- leaving the sliding door of the van wide open! People were beeping at me and waving and I was just waving back thinking how friendly everyone was that day LMAO

THIS pregnancy so far I've managed to put my pants on backwards :X
