My DS, who is 2.5 didn't talk much at all until a few months ago and suddenly he talks constantly but it's like his brain gets ahead of his mouth and he stutters like crazy. Should I be worried about this or will he grow out of it?

Nothing to be concerned about at all. Almost all new talkers (ages 1-3) that I know went through this stage, including both my girls. You are right on in thinking that their brain is moving fast than they can get the words out. This is very common! I would suggest that you don't push your DC during these stuttering episodes. Just be patient until they can get the words out. Correcting them, rushing them or saying the words for them will only serve to confuse or cause anxiety. Just be patient-the phase will pass.

My DS did the same thing around your LO's age and again not too long ago and he's 3 and a few months. It's simply that they now have so much to say and their brains are working faster than their little mouths. Nothing to be concerned with at all. My DS still does it on occasion, but not near as much as he was doing it a month or so ago.

My son is 2 1/2 yrs.old and recently began stuttering also. He only does it when he asks for something though, "Can I?" Grammar sticklers, hold on a minute, I know I should be teaching him "may I"
One thing at a time. I guess my only concern is that my son is nervous to ask questions. Its obviously extremely important to me that he feels comfortable communicating with me and expressing his needs and such.
