I am 9 weeks/3 days with my first preg. I started bleeding at 6 weeks, and it has been off and on since. Had ultrasound last week, and told I have a subchorionic bleed. I've done some research and apparently many women go on to have successful pregnancies. I'm just so scared and hoping everything goes well. The RN said there's nothing I can do, and I have to now wait and see. Ugh! Has anyone else experienced this?

hi Cameron! sorry youre going thru this..i have been there...at 12 weeks i started hemmoraging an insane amount of blood...i mean pools on the floor, i was put on bedrest..i continued to bleed for about 1 month straight..then it stopped...my water broke at 29 weeks ( i didnt know it at the time though, thought i was peeing myself) then when i started hemmoraging again @ 30 weeks, i was admitted to the hospital where i stayed till i delivered my son @ 32 weeks..hes a beautiful & healthy 3 year old now, although he weighed 3 lbs at birth...the dr's say that it did trigger my early labor but they cant be sure...i also dont believe the bedrest really helped physically, few dr's say it doesnt for this condition. all it did was cause me to gain extra weight as i couldnt exercise... i know there is not much info out there about this subject, but i will tell you to listen extra carefully to what your body tells you and dont worry about it..yo will go one to have a healthy baby! if you have any other questions id be glad to try and answer them for you
oops almost forgot to mention, the bleeding may cause you to recieve an elevated alpha fetal protein test (afp test) which usually done at 14-16 weeks, i looked hard to find the research as even my OB didnt know that...follow up u/s confirmed there were no abnormalities..thank goodness....try to keep a positive outlook also, youll pass on happy vibes to your baby aswell!

My friend gets these with each of her pregnancies. The first two she would get very scared and go to the emergency room for each hemorrhage... (we are talking pools of blood on the floor). Next pregnancy she had a "pass out" threshold... meaning, if the bleeding didn't make her woozy then she wouldn't go in...
Both times the bleeding stopped at around 20 weeks for her. While they look very scary your chances of a normal and healthy pregnancy, labor, birth, and baby are very high.

I had this with my son. I started spotting at 10 weeks, and went in for an ultrasound. Then the found the subchorionic hemorrhage. I was SOO upset, and totally thought I would loose him. But when I went back at 14 weeks for a follow-up ultrasound, the hemorrhage had resolved itself. I went on to have a healthy, CHUBBY baby boy!

I know what you are going through, and it is rough. But know that many, many women go through this, and the vast majority of them end up with healthy babies.
