I wasn't sure where to post this, I feel a little ridiculous asking about it actually, but I am having some major issues with the fact that my DP has had a vasectomy. He has told me that he would like to have kids with me eventually, and so is willing to get it reversed, but I am terrified that the reversal won't work. I have heard it's about a 50% success rate. It's not an immediate issues, but it eats away at me. He makes jokes every now and then, like if my period is a little late, that maybe we're pg and it hurts me. I tend to make bitter comments about it every now and then, and that hurts him.

We're both young (I'm 24, he's 26) and there's still a lot of time left for me to worry about this stuff, but I'm really worried that we'll go through all the trouble (well, the money actually) to get it reversed and then it won't work.
Has anyone had this issue? I think I'm just looking for some success stories to reassure myself that expecting to get pregnant after the reversal is realistic.

Anybody?

We had microscopic reversal 7 years ago. Dh's vas was almost 10 years old at the time. Our post vas baby will be 5 in December.
I do have to say that DH had his vas reversed 5-6 years after the vasectomy the first time by a uroligist in the military using regular sutures you can see, like on some of those sights the PP linked. It was not successful due to scar tissue. SO the second reversal was done by a specialist using sutures you could only see through the magnifier the doctor used. It looked like he was sewing wiht no thread otherwise. Just under 2 years later I was pregnant. So make sure you see a specialist. Anyone can do a reversal but the success is based more on how they do it.
