Just a question for you ladies. I'm am sick : and have been taking Sudafed for the past 2 or so days. I'm on cd 16, but not temping or otherwise charting. I just had some EWCM. My question is should I treat that as fertile cm or cold medicine induced? My last cycle was 50+ days and I'm pretty sure it was annovulatory. I'm going to GIO tonight anyway, but just curious if you think I could be O'ing o not.
Also, how does being ill affect O'ing? And does it ever impede the actual O and cause it not to occur?
Also, does cold medicine create EWCM, or just inhance what your body is making naturally?
TIA.

If your sudafed contains any decongestants, that could be a reason for the EWCM. Robitussin, etc. increase CM because they thin all the mucus in your body, including CM. It's the gua....ine (some big word I can't spell this early in the morning) that does it.

Most of the time, when I'm sick, my body delays Oing, because it's focusing all it's energy on making me well, not on producing an egg. One cycle though, I was a day before Oing when i got sick, and it went on and forced itself to O a day earlier than expected, almost as if to say, lets go on and get this over with! But that was a one time deal, most of the time being sick delays Oing for me.

Actually, Sudafed does the opposite of gufenisen..it is very drying. So if you have EWCM, I would say you are fertile.

What True Blue said.... Sudafed dries you up, so if you are taking Sudafed yet seeing EWCM, I would assume fertile.
