I usually feed and pump one breast at a time.
I pump twice during my work day and usually it is 3.75oz at a time.
last week I went to training and had no conditions for pumping, so on Thursday and Friday I skipped 1 time. bad, real bad. I was home during the weekend and dd seemed to bf just fine. However, yesterday I pumped 2.75oz in the morning (1oz less then usual) and 3.25oz in teh afternoon. Then this morning I only managed to pump 2.25oz. But last night my dd ate no more then usual (so I am assuming she is getting enough when I am with her). how do I go back to my 3.75oz at each pumping?
I have been trying to pump after no more milk is coming out, but that did not bring a second let down.

similar thing happened to me once. I was able to get things back to normal by drinking tons of water and taking fenugreek for about a week.

make sure the pump parts, especially the valves and flappy things aren't showing signs of wear. If you use Medela, just go ahead and replace the yellow valves and white membranes. 99% of the time, that will fix reduced pump output.

I'm going to second the "check your pump parts" specifically the valves and membranes (I just needed to change my membranes and I was back on track after a day)--that and staying hydrated!!!

yes I do use Medela.
where do I get the replacement parts? I think I have 1 extra set of white membranes that came with the pump, but what about theyellow parts? Plus, where do I get those in the future.

Also, I just wonder if Ameda pumps have similar issues with them.

I do think I am having less milk, though. usually I only feed from one breast at a time, but last couple of days dd seems to kinda bite the brest after a while but will take another one and continue eating. I an guessing she gets frustrated that no more milk is coming out.

Change in routine can wreck havoc with supply - not enough water or food - having your period - baby learning new skill and nursing less often, or more often and taking your body a few days to catch up....

I had a conference a few weeks ago where I only got to pump once a day, twice on one day. It ran from 8am to 7pm. The next week my pumping supply tanked but it came back just fine.

sounds like your situation was similar to mine. did you do anything or did youjust pump as usual and it came back?

could your baby just be having a growth spurt? Nurse as often as possible, pump only when absolutely necessary, and things will sort themselves out.

you can get the pump parts online, from most lactation consultants, or anywhere that rents breastpumps.

Babies-R-Us has replacement parts for Medela (the valves and membranes...and everything...)...that's where I got mine...also, if you look at the Medela site...it shows where their "dealers" are in your area!
