The last couple days it seems like her startle reflex has a hair trigger. Just now Daddy sat down while holding her and she startled and just screamed and cried in terror until I took her and nursed her. The other night I just shifted position slightly and she did this. I know it's a reflex, but it never seemed this sensitive when she was first born. She also seems to be having startling nightmares while she is sleeping.

She's also suddenly only wanting to be with me most of the time. Her dad is more involved than the average dad so this is especially weird seeming, it's not like he's a virtual stranger or anything. Also, isn't this a little young for separation anxiety?

She's not running a fever or anything and seems otherwise just like her usual self, smiling all the time, looking around, eating constantly. Is this a developmental phase no one told me about? Should I be concerned?

I think she was going through a growth spurt. You know how sometimes you pick them up in the morning and it's like, whoa, you're bigger! That happened yesterday morning when we got up. And then I came down with mastitis, which I seem to do whenever she puts on another pound.

I was starting to get worried, I have a lot of guilt about leaving her alone overnight in the NICU and I was afraid she was traumatized or something.
