I have a bing cherry tree and the cherries have never been very sweet and this year they are exceptionally tart. A was talking to a lady at a farmers market about this and she said she has heard that some fruit trees need watered with sugar water. Is this lady crazy or is this true?

I've never heard of that. Some varieties of cherries are just not that sweet. They are ment to be cooked in pies or preserves with sugar added.

I supose it wouldn't hurt the tree if you wanted to try it but it seems like a waste of time to me.
