My babe, just about 19 wks old, has to go to daycare 4 days a week. Today when I got there to pick her up, she looked like this!:

I'm worried about what to do for her. She's not in pain yet, that I can tell, but it's only a matter of time... I was thinking aloe and maybe vinegar, but are there things we should watch for?

Is it possible for her to go into shock from pain or something like that?

I don't want to keep waking her up all night if I don't have to, but I don't want to just think she's sleeping if she's actually having some "silent" reaction. Make any sense? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

i'm thinking....

aloe *lots of it*
a nice cool bath or cool cloth
send sun block for your babe
~put sun block on her in the morning before you drop her off~
floppy hats that fasten under the chin...has saved my ds many times

that's really all i can think of for now...HTH

#1 Make sure your baby stays hydrated, and lots of aloe vera. What was the day care provider thinking?!!! so sorry this happened hun. You could put in a call to the ped just to get their opinion, like if you need to wake her up, keep checking on her etc tonight. Thats what I would do, but I seriously freak about almost everything

The best product I have ever used for burns is Cactus Juice gel http://www.cactusjuicetm.com/ProductDetail.php?id=4 They say on their web site that it's better than aloe, and honestly it is. If put on immediately, it seems to stop a burn from going any further (skin keeps burning well after you've removed it from the heat source. If it feels warm, it's still burning).

Make sure she's hydrated with lots of breastmilk. Heck, I'd even put breastmilk on the burn! If you're going to use vinegar, I'd make it apple cider vinegar, the one with "mother".
