DS is 2 and I'm forgetting the "rules" about sunscreen. We've got a natural kind (can't remember the name), so it doesn't have so many yucky chemicals in it. But, should I be putting it on his face at all? What about hands? He has a hat on when we go out, but I worry that that doesn't always provide coverage. He is very fair-skinned and I want to protect him as much as possible from sunburn.

I put it on my DD's nose/cheeks down, the big thing is you don't want it in their eyes--yeoch! Also ears, whether wearing a hat or not. If she's willing to keep her hat on (which she usually is in the sun), I don't put any on her forehead/head, but if she throws it off a couple of times in the sun, I put bullfrog waterproof sunscreen on her head and forehead. They also have a "stick" type that is good for applying to faces, you don't have to worry about it dripping.

Don't try to use a spray to apply sunscreen to the face, again, don't want it in their eyes.
