Now that the sun is coming out, I am desperate for a sunscreen and facial moisturizer that meets the following requirements:

*good skin protection, spf 15 - 30 (titanium dioxide or other physical block)
*safe for 2nd & 3rd trimester use (of course!)
*non-comedogenic (skin already looks like ground beef... : )
*happy, healthy, natural ingredients (not too many preservatives, etc.)
*available online or at Whole Foods

I'm having a problem finding a good one. They either have chemical sunblocks; contain ingredients that are contraindicated for pregnancy; contain things that will make my skin worse, such as castor oil or mineral oil; or are very hard to find without a very good health food store.

Anybody have any favorites? Thanks for your help!

I like this one http://www.uvnaturalusa.com/htm/default.asp we did a co-op last summer & I bought a bunch of tubes - the shelf life is really long - like 3 yrs & all natural. I was using a block from WF made with Titanium dioxide & then read that it wasn't safe, so far, I haven't had any qualms with UV Natural - it is greasy though.

http://wintersun.com/shop/product_in...roducts_id=163 This is my favorite all time sun screen. I use it every morning as a face moisturizer and as needed during sun exposure. It's a tad oily but I don't mind and it smells like heaven ( the orange blossom). hth

I was curious too, so I found another site that sells it and for a similar price it's 6 oz.

I can't believe I only just realized I'm going to be pregnant in Phoenix this summer and won't want to use gobs and gobs of conventional sunscreen! Ack! Thanks for the thread.

It's a 6oz container. I got mine last October while in Flagstaff and it's not even half gone (okay, I realize it's winter but I do use it on my face every day) One warning tho, you do have to reapply it after long exposure, it's not the 8 hour stuff but yk, it doesn't have all the gunk either. Winter Sun is owned by the mother of the woman who makes it. She is incredible and I would recommend supporting her biz.

alison_in_oh, If you happen to go up to the cooler part of AZ (Flagstaff) you could just buy it at her store!

Here is a better page: http://wintersun.com/shop/index.php?...sort=2a&page=2 The less price is a 1.75 oz that makes a good trial size or smaller for carrying around in your bag. And a little bit goes a long way!
