I have a question and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. One of the neonatologists at the hospital where I delivered said that we may need to give him an iron and vitamin B supplement. I plan to ask my pediatrician about this at our next appt but I wanted to do some research first as I've never heard of this.

Does anyone have any info?

Thanks!

It was probably Vit. D. which your baby can get naturally by spending a few minutes in the sun daily. Especially during the summer, my ped. agreed we didn't need this. I also don't give the iron but I don't have any info on that right now.

I don't know if it depends on the child, but I have two healthy daughters that haven't been supplemented with anything. We even went through the winter without Vitamin D, although I did try. But the baby kept gagging and I didn't think it was worth scaring her off medicine so we did spend time outside in the snow.
