I mentioned this in the other thread. Just wanted to report that I had a successful home birth with a baby who was a surprise frank breech. Labor was 16 hours total with almost 3 hours of pushing. Unfortunately, I had a retained placenta so I ended up transporting for myself but all went well. I'm so glad I stayed home and did not have a c/s - the recovery was instantaneous and I felt great immediately. Details in the birth stories forum:

my former midwife had a client who had surprise twins at home!

the woman had refused all listening to babies heartbeat and so after baby # 1 was born the midwife got up to get the mother a drink and when she came back, baby # 2 was crowning!

she said it was one of the biggest shocks she had ever had!

Thanks everyone!

Wow, an eleven pounder as a breech! Awesome!

Yikes on the surprise twins. I'm not sure what I would have done (besides fainting), eeks!

cool, i had a planned vaginal delivery of my 1st dd who was frank breech and it would have been so much better to do it at home instead of in an operating room on my back with IV, abdominal monitor, and 20 annoying medical spectators!
