Oh my, I took a test this morning bc I have been spotting off and on and no AF, and generally if I don't have her by now, I'm late. Oh my. It was positive!!! I didn't believe it, so I just took another one, didn't even hold it for a long time....BFP!!!!!!! OH MY!!! We weren't trying, though we wanted another...but not til at least next summer bc we have to move next spring! OH MY!!!! That line came up fast!!!

DH plays guitar and is just getting into some gigs and stuff. He has to practice with a guy tonight (he'll be home for dinner then out the door again) and they have a real performance tomorrow night...his first real performance...so I don't want to tell him til Saturday, and ruin any groove he has going.

I would love a great creative way to tell him....there was a thread on this ages ago, but naturally I didn't save a link to it....anyone care to share some great ideas???

BTW, I'm due FEB 29....on the freaking leap year LOL!!!!!!!!!

you could get a lil guitar and put it at a spot at the table and make baby carrots and baby peas, baby back ribs, baby corn, see if you he catches on

I was on vacation when I found out and DH was back here at home when I took the test, so I emailed him with "pictures from my vacation"

I bought some iron-on letters at the craft store, made a shirt for ds and put it on him, then waited to see how long it would take dh to notice. He didn't seem to notice, so I then told ds to tell Daddy that there's a baby in Mommy's belly. Dh was still oblivious, LOL. He told me he thought that the "I'm going to be the big brother!" shirt was a hand-me-down from a friend. He's dense like that sometimes.

Anyhow, congratulations! I remember you from our Oct. 04 DDC so it's nice to "see" a familiar face around!

Oh it went great!! I couldn't wait til after his show LOL. I went shopping with DD yesterday and bought her a big sister shirt, then went to Mimi Maternity and bought this tank and we wore them home. I was trying to have him see my shirt first, and boy it took him a little while LOL!!! All of a sudden he realized I was wearing a different shirt than I left in, and was like, "hey, did you buy a new shirt? Cool." Then he looked at it more. And more. And was like, "what?....huh?..." and then I showed him DD's shirt and he broke into a huge smile and was like "WOW how did that happen?" LOL. It was cute. Took a couple minutes to sink in but he was definitely excited!!!

Oh and he played just fine last night, and even rocked singing the last song himself.

I didn't come up with a fun way to tell dh. I was just so excited, that I told him as soon as I got home that night. However, we are planning on holding out to tell our parents until our first appointment @10 weeks, when hopefully we will have a beautiful u/s picture. Then we'll either FedEx Overnight or e-mail the ultrasound pix to them...

If we can really wait that long!

Since my husband was with me when I took the test, I kind of told him a little early. We were on vacation and I was beginning to think I may be pregnant. I told him that we needed to find a Target or simular store. We were in a very small town and the closest thing was the grocery store. I told him that I needed something other that a test because I wanted to surprise him. He's the type who graciously does all the shopping and errands so it was hard trying to get in to the store. I finally realised that this wasn't going to work and I needed a test before we got back to the cottage and settled in for the afternoon. So, I was frantically trying to think of something as he was walking across the parking lot and just before he got to the door, I yelled " I need a pregnancy test ". Yes, we had a positive and are very excited to be adding to our family. For him, the news didn't really sink in until the stick confirmed it.

Ha. I love these stories.

I had taken a couple of home internet tests, the strip kind, but I knew my hubby wouldn't know what in the world it was. So, I bought one of those digital ones that reads "pregnant" and wrapped it up in a little box and gave it to him as a gift. It was perfect b/c he had just had his third and final interview for a new job so he thought the gift was for that. When he opened the box it took what seemed like forever for him to figure out what the thing was.... He later said he just saw the end of it and the purple cap and he was like, is this a keychain?! Then he saw Pregnant and he just looked at me with big old round eyes and a "NUH-UH"! ha. it was great. I snapped the picture just as he looked up and captured the PERFECT face!
