We went in for our 18wk ultra sound and found out to our suprise that we our having twins. I had two previous ultrasounds at 6 and 8wks to date the pregnancy because we had had a miscarriage in December 2006 and I had never got my period back. Needless to say they never saw the other baby during the first two ultrasounds so, this was a big suprise to say the least. They think one of the babies is a boy and the other a girl. I'm hoping that there are other moms in our due date club that may also be having twins. We are so excited and nervous at the same time but, I feel like sharing the news with everyone.

Wow, congratulations on your huge suprise!

If there are no other twin moms here in Sept, I'm sure you could chat with the ladies in August, there are something like 7 sets of twins onthat board as of now! Also I think full term for twins is usally about a month earlier (don't know for certain though) so chances are you'll go in August anyhow...

Good luck!

Wow! Congrats!! I'm officially in Oct DDC (due 10/03) and there is at least one twin mama there already, plus past twin mamas.

Hope the rest of the pregnancy is smooth and uneventful! Congrats!!

Wow, big surprise. Congratulations!

My Dh was just asking me today if I were sure there was only one baby in there. I was trying to reassure him that certainly I would know by now if there were 2, but maybe not!
(I don't think I will tell him about your surprise twins...)

Congrats! I'm also in the October ddc, and this pregnancy is NOT twins, but I have 4yo twin boys. I just want to let you know that although lots of moms go early, here at MDC we seem to have twin mamas who go to 39+w!

Congratulations! What a suprise. I am so big my second time around that alot of people make comments about me having twins. It seems unlikely but I'm going to talk to the MW this week and see what she thinks. We'll know for sure when we have an US in a few weeks so maybe you won't be the only twin mamma in Sept.

Congrats Mama!:

We found out at a 7 week ultrasound about our double-blessing so we've had time to adjust. I can't imagine just now finding out! (We'll be 18 weeks Monday).

Definitely check the Parenting Multiples board. I'm new to all of this too so I don't have much advice but FWIW, don't let others freak you out about having 2. So far, we've had a totally normal pregnancy and have talked to a lot of other twin mamas who have too! It's usually people who have never had any kids or those who are more mainstream-singleton parents who will tell you that you can't carry full-term, you'll have to have a c-section, you'll have tiny babies, etc. Most of the mamas here - even the singleton ones - are much more helpful!

Good luck!

______Reply:________That's comforting to know. I was worried about that. I have to find an obgyn on Monday since I was with a midwife. She said I would be considered high risk so I have to switch to a obgyn. Needless to say that has been on my mind this weekend, the whole early thing along with the bedrest scares me.

I also want to thank all the moms for all the well wishes.
