Just a little funny thing which happened Tuesday at my son's 5 month check up.
It was the first time he had a CD on for a Dr's visit, so I was prepared for having to defend my choice because I thought she was going to give me the "it is not sanitary" speech.
Well, my baby ONLY weras CPFs, but he had a cute AIO not to shock the Dr... For my surprised, when she asked me to undress my baby and saw the diaper, she said: "Oh, what a cute AIO! What brand is it. Don't you like regular prefolds with pins?" I said that I basically only had PFs, and she said to my son "So your mom got the dressy stuff out of the drawer for the Dr's visit, didn't she?"
I thought it was cool - I wish I had the same reaction from other people... One of my sister's friend actually offered to buy me some DD because she thought I CD because I was very poor or something :LOL

What a great reaction to get! I wouldn't expect my ped to think cd's were unsanitary but I wouldn't expect them to know what an AIO is! You're pretty lucky I think.

Very cool!!

I was surprised by our dr's reaction too. He was checking her over and was talking to her, "...you're wearing cloth huh....you're mommy's taking goooood care of you!" Then he mentioned later that he has several patients who use cloth.

Isn't that great! We had an ER room doc once say "Oohh.. you get to wear the good stuff." I thought that was pretty cool!

I hear ya there! I actually had someone (a relative) buy us a weeks worth of grocerys and two huge packs of DD because they thought it was so sad that I 'HAD' to put Joe in cloth. LOL my Dh had been laid off for about a month, but we had unemployment and was taking home the same amount of $, not to mention we had just gotten our taxes back so I had the $ to spend on cloth! LOL we just sighed said thanks, ate the food, and returned the DD's- I got some fabric to make more CD's with the $ from those! And the diapers that came from that $, well I still have them, they are great, and the DD's would be stinking up a landfil by now! ~

How cool! Your ped knows 'AIO!'

I'm going to have to pick our next ped. diaper carefully, as she's a relatively new mama who was going to use a cloth diaper service, but I haven't seen her since to find out how it is going.

my ped said "oh, what a neat diaper!! I didn't know they made them like that now. Wish they had those when I was using cloth diapers!"

My ped's nurse LOVES Salem's and always enjoys seeing what she has on that day. The ped never has commented but he is semi cruncy so I don't think he would ever speak lowly of them.

I took my dd to a ped a couple weeks ago and ended up sharing a website with her after she liked the cover I was using on her! She was pg and wanting to do cloth. Had also done it for her second child. Cool huh?
