Poor dd is a sweat machine! Her head is wet most of the time. I lay her down for a nap and it is incredible the size and wetness she leaves on the pillow. She is 8 months and since she is a new born i oticed her hands and feet seemed to always be wet and cold. I have never seen anyone like her before. She hates being cold and I do not know what to put on her, I mean too many clothes and they get drenched in sweat, not enough and she gets cold. I need to know if there are other moms with the same problem. She has a wellness check up soon and I will bring it up with the dr.

thanks

I have no advice, but have an identical son. I'm told it is perfectly normal.
my 10 week old is alwas sweaty- especially his head. heat rash daily from the sling and sleeping. it doesn't seem to bother him.

my sister calls him her little baked potato.

if I knew how to insert that smilie eating popcorn- i would.
My DS, 9 months, runs pretty warm also. Any time he naps or sits in his carseat his little head just gets really sweaty. He did have a full head of hair (as you can see in the pic in my sig), but a few days ago DH gave him a haircut, a really short crewcut. I'm not used to it yet (it makes him look so much older!) but it is keeping him cooler. No, I'm not recommending you give your DD a crewcut
just saying what we did for DS.

Haley is 2.5 now but when she was a baby she was a sweatbox as well. To sleep we put her in just a diaper with a sheet over her or a onesie with a sheet over her. That kept her cool enough to not sweat quite as much but warm enough that she wasn't cold. Even now at 2.5 she runs hot and from the second it starts warming up at all sleeps in a diaper and a shirt or t-shirt and no covers

ugh- it just started hitting the nineties here and we dont have ac. BFing my 4 mo. old is getting so uncomfortable. She's like a little sticky furnace against my skin
I've been wiping her down with a wet washcloth a lot- she loves it. She calms the moment I put in to her forhead.

Another sweaty little one here - dd's head actually drips when she has nursed, poor baby. It doesn't seem to bother her though - oh, and she gets little stinky feet too, if she has been wearing sox for more than a couple of hours. No chance of that now though, as it is *insanely* hot and humid - she is just bumbling round in her dipe, and all the more comfortable for it.
My DS is a sweat machine, too. I think he gets it from his daddy. That man can sweat in the dead of winter.
My older son used to fall asleep on his Daddy's chest almost every night and then DH would have to change his shirt because DS's head had sweat so much.

My younger son's head sweat a lot but in addition, his hands and feet were often wet (not just damp) at the doctor's office when he made a fist-sweat would *drip* from his hands.

The doc advised me that he had hyperhidrosis and that when he became a teen, if it really bothered him there was a surgery available to decrease or stop the sweaty hands. I "had a fret" as my older DS says :LOL worrying about it.

Then one day, I noticed that it was no longer a problem. It just went away for both kids as they grew. They are 5 years old and 2 on July 17.

HTH,

Kim

Bruno (at seven weeks
) is the same. He is particularly sweaty in the back of his head. I tend to use a towel or a burping cloth while i hold him to breastfeed. And i change his clothes more often, just to cool him off, especially now that summer has finally landed in Spain!

:LOL I've got two sweaty lumps sleeping on me right now. :LOL

My kids are always thirsty, especially my daughter; due to her medical issues and family history, I pay extra close attention to how much they're drinking and signs of dehydration. Without the extra issues, I'd just assume that they, like their father, are just super warm babes.
