This morning 21 mo old ds woke me by whispering in my ear "wee bit other side nurse please" (usually he wakes me by yelling "up mommy"!).

Those who say "if they're old enough to ask for it they're too old to nurse" are just wrong - and what's more I believe that those moms, as well as their toddlers, are missing out on something very special.

I remember shortly after DD1 started talking in phrases, she pulled off in the middle of the night, whispered "thanks mama" and then nuzzled back in for more, and then she pulled off and repeated "thanks mama". It choked me up a little bit despite my sleep deprived state.
About an hour ago, Lu stopped nursing, put both hands on either side of my face, kissed me square on my mouth and said "I love you" before resuming her snack. I agree. Totally missing out on something really special. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
