AGH.

I woke up this morning with my hand so swollen my wedding badn was cutting off my circulation! WTH? It took me a tense few minutes and some oil to wiggle it off and hings are better now, I can feel/use my hand again, but it was freaky! I was even joking to dh about that a little while back, saying I should probably consider taking my ring off soon, but since I never swelled at all with dd, I wan't sure it was necesary......

So...Im chomping down protein and drinking water like it's going out of style....gah!

Anyway, this is so weird for me, despite not being the healthiest oersona on the planet and battling a myriad of issues and symptoms, the whole swelling thing is the like ONE thing I've never had to deal with before.....UGH!

*sigh*

anyway....post your swelling stories/remedies/hugs here!

i had swelling near the end with dd, so i wanted to get a chain to wear my ring for this final month. i never got around to it, but just had to put the ring on a shelf the other day. no major swelling, but i'd rather slip it off now than have to tug it off later. mostly i'll have little swelling episodes, oddly enough if i eat something sweet. my body is anti-sweets this pregnancy, as they cause heartburn and swelling. mostly that's a great thing, but sometimes i get cravings that contradict the after-affects.

My hands have been swelling slightly, too. Nothing huge, but enough to make me stop wearing my bands I have been drinking on my own *and now on my MW's recommendation* alfalfa and dandelion tea, with my raspberry leaf. They are both good at relieving water issues, maybe that would work for you.

Chugging water, shunning salt and sodium-rich foods, eating cucumber and watermelon did the trick for me. Bless your heart...swelling sucks!!

You're not having any pre-e symptoms, are you?

Hmmm thanks for mentioning the dandelion tea.....I've been swelling now these past several weeks and some days it's really noticable in my face, and around my ankles (sock strangulation marks) . My wedding ring I haven't been able to wear for ages, I even got it stretched after I didn't get the last 10-15 lbs off after having dd.

The past couple days, my ankles have started swelling a little bit. Enough that my socks are leaving marks. And they're not tight socks, either. My wedding ring was a little snugger than usual when I put it on this morning, but it's been kind of loose lately, so getting it on wasn't a problem.

For my swellling, I take an extra B-6 100mg along with my prenatal in the morning. I notice a difference on the days I forget to take it. I haven't worn my wedding ring the PG since I was 10-12 weeks along. I wear it on a chain around my neck.

For me I have been lucky this time around with the swelling. However, I have started taking my rings off to sleep because I get so hot sometimes and notice that my fingers swell and it's really uncomfortable. I also feel like I'm more swollen in the morning when the heat is on higher. Not sure if there's a connection.

I am a big swollen monster. My rings have not worked for many weeks and I am def. having sock line issues. I looked at my ankles yesterdfsay in the dr.s office and I was totally appauled. They are huge, my legs are all read and puffy. I am just grossed out by the swelling.
