Does anyone have any remedies to relieve swelling? I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and have noticed some swelling. I swim every other day and drink yogi mother-to-be tea - these both seem to work (I notice how much they work when I lag on the swim or stop drinking the tea for a few days) but I need something more as swelling continues to increase. Has anything worked for you? I also put my feet up when I can and try to drink a ton of water but I'm looking for something more.

Hi newclementine,

The swelling is one of those unfortunate things that comes with pregnancy at times. I did as you did, feet up and drink plenty of water. It tends to happen from about this time onwards.

The most amazing thing is as soon as bubs is born, all these things we complain about go away. Some you miss...most you don't.

My OB and midwife both recommend a long walk and then prop your feet up right afterwards. They both also said that drinking too much water could cause it so only drink the recommended 8-10 glasses of water. I too am terribly swollen. I have noticed wearing my sneakers helps too.

Foot massages!!! With an emphasis on strokes going up your legs, back towards your heart. Also, someone in my DDC recommended epsom salt baths to relieve swelling as well.
