(Not sure where to post this) Ds got a pool for his bday and I want to put it on the back patio and not on the grass. Does anyone have a reccomendation for cushion under/around pool so there are no injuries? I checked into rubber floor mats at Toys R Us...price was ok, but do you think they would collect mildew?

We bought the interlocking mats at a carparts store to put under our little pool last year (on a cement patio). They're just solid grey, but cheaper than the toy store kind. No mildew so far and they have been out all winter.

you could also try those giant puzzle peices, they have the alphabet and numbers and things on them...that way when you are not using them under the pool they are a cool and educational toy as well...we have them under our pop up tent...

I would probably buy some of the anti-slip mat pieces they sell at Costco and restaurant supply stores. They look sort of like grey rubber swiss cheese slices. They wouldn't attract mildew, which things that aren't made for wet areas might. They are non-skid, have drainage so they don't get puddles and get slippery, and are thick and cushy because they are designed to keep restaurant kitchen staff safe and comfy.
