I am a full time student, and so is dh. Since we started back at school last fall we have had to have ds in part time or even full time daycare, depending on some of our varying circumstances. I have had to switch his daycare once already, because the amazing woman I started with was not licensed and my school would not provide financial assistance for daycare unless he was in licensed care. Ds is two now, and he seems to like his current place pretty well, except that at times I think it is too big for his age.

Anyway what my pre-ramble is leading to is that I am transferring from community college to a private university this fall. I am pre-nursing and likely to enter their nursing program Spring 2010. We live pretty far away from where I will be going when I transfer and our current daycare is going to be out of the way, and no where near school for me. I am thinking about moving him to a new center that would be closer to school so that I could be there in a much quicker range then his current. But..I am worried about moving him around so much. Do you think I need to be worried about consistency? WWYD? I feel like my schedule is going to be insane and any adjustment to make things smoother will help my day overall go better, but what is more important here? I guess I am looking for some perspective here. Anyone been in this boat before?

We had to move daycares a few times for other reasons, and it was really hard on DS (however, he is very routine oriented), what we did most recently is put him in a daycare that is a few blocks from our house...this way it is not out of the way, regardless of where we work (I work and go to school in different directions, and not sure where I will be working after I graduate in December).

So that is what I would suggest, if you feel you should move, try to pick somewhere close to home....so hopefully you won't have to move again.
