I am switching from a ped to a family practice doc, yay! Do I need to get a copy of my baby's chart from the ped, or will the new doctor's office request this? Does anyone who has switched know?

I think it depends on the doc - I'd call and ask if it were me.

IME, it depends on the doc. Congratulations on switching!

We switch a lot (we moved and I shop for docs until I'm happy!) and I always just have the new doc fax a release form/request for records to the old one. A few docs charge to give you the records, but will fax them to the new doc free. All you have to do is call the pedi and get the fax # to take with you to the new doc.<br><br>
We just switched from a GREAT pedi (with sucky staff) to a great FP. I'm very pleased, and she's right in our neighborhood, almost close enough to walk.
