I am switching from a ped to a family practice doc, yay! Do I need to get a copy of my baby's chart from the ped, or will the new doctor's office request this? Does anyone who has switched know?

IME, it depends on the doc. Congratulations on switching!

We switch a lot (we moved and I shop for docs until I'm happy!) and I always just have the new doc fax a release form/request for records to the old one. A few docs charge to give you the records, but will fax them to the new doc free. All you have to do is call the pedi and get the fax # to take with you to the new doc.

We just switched from a GREAT pedi (with sucky staff) to a great FP. I'm very pleased, and she's right in our neighborhood, almost close enough to walk.
