A few months ago I had a lot of work done on a molar, root canal, and a crown put on it as well. It has been fine since, sometimes it feels a bit tender, but it hasn't bothered me. Then yesterday is started feeling tender and kind of "nervy" when I bit on it, and today the gums around it are a bit swollen and red and it feels sore. I flossed and have been rinsing it with salt water. It is very hard to get in to see my dentist right away, and he is also a ferry ride away. So, any idea what this might be? Could there be a problem with the crown, or tooth?

Any advice???? Thank you!!!

I'm not sure what your problem stems from but I have a crown that has to be redone and I get food trapped down in my gums then they are red and painful. They put on a bad fitting crown last year and now I am losing my bone due to the acids eating away at it...

If I were you I would get it checked out before it gets worse! It couldn't hurt to get a quick look taken at it.
Good Luck!!
