DS ADORES going to work with his dad once a year. in fact he counts the months and days until it happens again.

this year i looked for some resources to make it a richer experience.

Hey, that's today! I wonder if DH would take DS to work this afternoon...

I remember doing this in high school: I went to work with my (SAH) mom, and we cleaned out and organized the kitchen cupboards. Then, I traded stocks with my (WAH) dad.

DD is counting down the years until she can go.

DH works in a machine shop so it's too dangerous for a 4 yo. But one of his co workers brought a 14 yo DD and DH volunteered to teach her some welding, and helped her take some pictures for her project. He said most of the other guys were kind of weird about her being there and didn't want to show her what they do and stuff.

My DH works in a school for kids with special needs. He took DS6 for about 3 hours. They both had a great time!

My DH is a computer programmer. He's taken the kids into his office before after hours and they think his computer is only for playing Super Mario. I wonder if that's what they think he does all day?

Our kids do this everyday! DH works from home.

i am a full time student at the local community college. my 6 year old who goes to first grade (i know i saw this at the front page and wanted to share) wanted to know what it was like to go to college. what my experience was. we had been sharing that we were studying the same issue. black history. she was reading about ruby bridges and i read an essay about the black table.

i didnt even realise it was take your child to work day. she took a day off school and had a great time sitting in my classes from 730 am till 230 pm with a break for lunch in between. i had okayed this from my proffs before and they were all ok - some a little hesitant. she was bored a little but she was glad she got to check out what i did in school.

DS had so much fun! but he and DH went to the building where they teach animal and ag sciences... they petted the cows, the pigs, etc and inside they checked out the rabbits and rats and other animals. they played with the copier and computer games and DH had him help do some actual work with the big computer servers. they checked out the work pick up truck and drove around.

he wants to go to work with DH every day! he thinks dad gets to do fun stuff and eat out the vending machine every day!
