Okay, I did a search on stripping...vinegar...yadda, yadda, yadda...but I have a toddler and a newborn and my half-asleep brain just can't handle weeding through all the threads on stink. :LOL My ds's diapers stink! I just started washing 3 week old dd's diapers in with his and now they stink! As soon as they are wet...it's nauseating, all that yummy ov.

So tell me how I strip them again? Vinegar? Baking Soda? Dawn?
Ack!

Oh, and I don't think I have hard or soft water. It seems to be right in the middle...so is it alright to use vinegar with whatever kind of water you have or will I kill all my diapers?

ETA: my current wash routine-
Long cold wash with extra rinse
Long hot wash with a few tablespoons of Era and extra rinse

Usually I would just do plain hot washes (with no detergent or vinegar/baking soda, etc. ) until no more suds. Sometimes it can take several to get rid of all the build up. HTH!
Congratulations on your new little girl!!

When I strip my diapers, I throw some RLR in with clean diapers, no detergent, and wash on hot. Then I do hot rinses until I see no more suds.
bumping for more ideas...

I'm watching this thread, cause I'm having the same problem. I hope more good ideas are added.

I lower the water level and do repeated washes on hot wash / cold rinse - I even let it spin out between (lets the hot water build back up for a little longer that way I think). I just keep doing full washes until no more suds.
