Teachers Edition's?

I am really debating this... I have decided (more or less) which curriculum's I want to use starting out.

Do I need to buy the teachers editions of the books?

I figured on buying test keys just for my own sanity, but the TE's seem kind of like a waste of money.

What do you think?

I'm getting Abeka 1st, 3rd, and 6th...
we are substituting Spelling Spectrum and Saxon or Horizon Math.

It really depends on what curriculum you're getting. Sometimes the teacher's edition has all the background "stuff" in it the student needs to answer the questions, sometimes not.

THe ideal thing to do would be to have a look at them, either by asking members of your local group (if you're in one) or if you listed what you're thinking of getting, maybe someone here would know, specifically.
I second what andrea said.Especially asyou get up into high school you'll want the teachers manuals.I use em alot for english and lit and of course math.
One of my friends always looks for them used and saves a pretty penny that way.

I have abekka science and thier teachers manuals have tons of stuff in it. little poems to help kids remember, activity ideas, other places to find more information, preject ideas, etc. . . Since you are getting Abekka stuff I would definitely get the teeachers manuals.
