My 17 month DS had his 4th eye tooth cut through a couple of weeks ago.

His top two 1 year molars are mostly but not all the way in yet and his top and bottom eye teeth are not either. Do teeth still hurt after they've cut through and are just coming all the way in? I thought it was mainly before & during the cutting part.

I am just confused because after the last eye tooth cut through two weeks ago he stopped having teething symptoms. But then the last two days he's been chewing and biting and drooling and being cranky. It's like he's teething but I don't know how he could be. I am sure his 2 tear molars can't be coming in. Can they?

every kid can have their own teething schedule. Its possible he is cutting more. I would think if they aren't all the way in yet, there probably is some discomfort because they are still splitting the gum open to make room for the whole tooth.

THanks, OceansEve! I am thinking it is the previously cut molars and eye teeth coming in more. He is just chewing and chewing on his fingers today.

DD cut her eye teeth months ago and they are STILL working their way through and occasionally giving her some trouble. This was new for us since she had been a relatively easy teether up until this point. I think it just takes these teeth awhile (and I have heard that they are the most difficult).

Could very well be his gums are just really sore after the teeth have come through. The best thing to do is freeze a cold rag or use some sort of cold teething toy for your child to chew on. It may be a little messy, but it worked wonders for my DS. Good luck, mama and I hope your LO feels better soon!!
