Can teething cause cold like symptoms? I noticed yesterday her nose was runny then it was stuffy. She seems to have those little red dots under her lower eyelid, similar to the ones they get around the mouth when they have had their fingers in their mouth. Anyone else experience this? And to top it off, she woke up with some crustation on the corners of her eyes.

Just a first time mom, who feels so incredibly overwhelmed. I have a lot of questions that I posted on the New Member forum. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

TIA,
Yep, my dd had most of those symptoms while teething. I'm not sure if it was the teething itself; it's possible that she was also fighting a little but at the same time. Teething can also cause fevers, sore bums, yucky poops, poor sleeping, etc etc. Oh, and seriously cranky babies. Miserable.

Either way, I wouldn't worry about it. It's all mild stuff in my book.

Mild stuff...probably :) but I just feel like since I haven't VAXED yet and am not 1000% sure I want to. I feel like I don't really have a base of knowledge to help keep her healthy. Such as home remedies or going to a store and buying some chamomile for this or that...That is where I feel overwhelmed, like there is so much out there to know and I feel I fall short in that category, kwim? I have bought books, such as Aviva Romm, but I haven't the slightest on how to make tinctures, infusions and the like....ugggggggggggggghhhh, just venting,
Anyway, thanks for your reply I appreciate it.

YES!! DS just cut his first 2 teeth, and about 3 days before they cut I took him to the ped who thought he had an upper respiratory infection-it mysteriously cleared up after #1 popped through! A friend just suggested that if you make any black tea, squeeze out the bag and rub on dc's gums-the tanins help with teething issues. I ended up using baby tylenol because he was so miserable and congested-the Hylands just wasn't helping.

Mama, you've come to the right place (MDC) to get the knowledge you think you lack.

And BTW, IMO the best thing you can do for your child is to trust your mama instincts! (and a lot of us don't vax.... vaxing does not equal health).

Anyway, there are a lot of great mamas and some great dads here too who can give you help. Welcome!
